Santulan (संतुलन) - Balancing the Equation of Life
Aim
In India, mental wellness is an increasingly recognized concern, with approximately 10% to 15% of the population experiencing mental health disorders like depression and anxiety. Alarmingly, around 75% of those affected do not receive adequate treatment, largely due to the shortage of mental health professionals—only 0.3 psychiatrists per 100,000 people compared to the global average of 9. This issue is further compounded by a cultural stigma that deters individuals from seeking help, with nearly 90% of those affected facing discrimination.
Santulan signifies ‘being in equilibrium’. The goal of the workshop ‘Santulan’ is to provide a methodical approach to instill a balance in one’s equation of life that can be integrated into the daily routines, fostering both mental and physical harmony.
Objectives
- Awareness: Cultivate an understanding of holistic well-being and the factors affecting it.
- Practical Activities: Engage in various exercises and practices that promote balance in everyday life.
- Individual Focus: Recognize that outcomes are unique to each participant, reflecting the diverse nature of mental health.
Experience
Santulan stands out from other theoretical and interactive seminars; just as a car’s performance is optimised with fine-tuning in a workshop, participants will experience transformation throughout this process, enhancing productivity without leading to fatigue. The format reinforces foundational concepts learned in early years, emphasizing the importance of mental stillness for optimal performance.
Key Features
- No Claims, No Expectations: This workshop serves as a journey of self-discovery and improvement, inviting queries and exploration rather than providing definitive answers.
- Holistic Approach: Encourage a balanced perspective that integrates mind, body, and spirit.
